Frequently Asked Questions
Do you require a deposit for booking? Do I get my deposit back in the event of a weather delay or reschedule?
Yes! Non-refundable retainers are required to book any session type or wedding package. When you book with me you are committing to take that spot on my schedule. In turn, I am committing to hold that spot for you and turn away other clients who may have wanted to book for that time.

If we encounter a weather delay I will offer other dates to reschedule to. If you decide not to reschedule at that time, a credit for the amount of your deposit will be kept on file for future bookings.

I do not allow general reschedules. In the event that someone is ill, reach out to me and we will work something out.
What time does my session start? What happens if I am late to my session?
I primarily and almost exclusively shoot during "golden hour" which provides the best lighting of the day for your session. This is about an hour before sunset. For in-home newborn sessions, I generally start sometime in the late morning around 10:30am.

Auto-reminder messages with detailed instructions are texted to everyone 1 week prior to their session. In these messages you are asked to arrive 10 mins prior to your scheduled start time. I schedule session times based on predicted prime lighting conditions. The scheduled times only account for shooting time. This doesn't include parking/meeting up, walking to the starting spot, and getting the session underway. If you're pulling into the parking lot at your scheduled start time, you are cutting into your session time. I always think about the quote I heard growing up "If you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late" and for photo sessions it couldn't ring more true. As much as I would like to stay for extra time, I often have sessions back to back and am unable to do so.
In the event that you are running a few minutes behind, please text me ASAP so I am informed. If you are more than 10 mins late to your starting time on a mini session you will need to re-book. A deposit will be
required to book again.
Do you give RAW unedited files?
I will only deliver edited images. Like most photographers, our editing is dependent on the way we capture an image. I will intentionally shoot a certain way in order to keep consistent with my editing style.
What is your turn around time on delivering photos?
My turn around time is 3 weeks (but usually is delivered to you much sooner). Mini sessions are retuned within 10 days and Weddings within 8 weeks. I always strive to complete galleries before the deadlines, but also don't want to compromise a galleries potential by rushing to completion.
